Jasmine Everetts Bio
My passion for reading started at a young age. What began as a quiet activity to enjoy in solitude and stay out of the way quickly became my solace. Through books, I found characters who overcame obstacles similar to my own, gained empathy, and saw the world from different perspectives.
I did not go through life thinking I could someday be a writer because I did not fill notebooks with stories. I did, however, fill journal after journal of my daily life, my thoughts, and my opinions.
I frequented the library as often as I could and volunteered every summer that I was of eligible age. The library and its employees played a significant role in my adolescence. I had a safe space, significant relationships, and access to all of the knowledge and entertainment I could ask for.
My two-year-old daughter sees me reading and writing and she copies my example. What I read to her ranges from children's books, to young adult, to classic literature. I cannot wait to hear her thoughts and opinions on things as she grows and learns.
